The best meal I've ever had in Scotland was at the Applecross Inn on the West Coast of Scotland just north of Kyles of Lochalsh, Applecross sits right on the coast and to get there you need to go over the highest mountain pass in the UK - Pass of the Cattle - the trip to get there definitely adds to the experience.

Food at the Applecross Inn centres around good local supplies and excellent seafood and the menu changes depending on availability. It caters for all tastes in the bar or in its beer garden which overlooks the the Sound of Raasay and is perfect to watch the sun set.

Kids are well catered for and instead of a kids menu, the Applecross Inn offers smaller portions of all the dishes on the menu.

And if you are looking for accomodation the Inn has a small number of rooms available, although advance booking is adviseable.

It's so good that I've been a couple of times as the food is superb!
